Week 3 preview: Cedar Shoals vs. Greenbrier

Coming off of a 49-43 win against Winder Barrow, the Cedar Shoals Jaguars prepare to take on the Greenbrier Wolfpack Friday September 6 at 7:30 at Waters-Wilkins Field.

Greenbrier has only played one game so far this season, losing in a shutout to Statesboro 31-0.

The Jaguars feel confident in their ability to pull a win against GreenBrier.  Last year the Jaguars won 35-9.

“I think we’ll most definitely win, we’ve worked hard this week and we practiced well,” senior quarterback Jaylan Rusher said.

Rusher’s ability to throw has exceeded expectations with five touchdown passes along with 285 passing yards on the season.

Sophomore Jerdavian Colbert has also been exceptional in only his second year. Colbert is already averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry along with 302 yards on the season.

Head Coach Leroy Ryals feels prepared for what Greenbrier might throw at his team.

“We expect them to come in and regroup, and I expect them to come and compete and have a good game plan against us,” said Coach Ryals.
