Homecoming game preview: Cedar Shoals vs. Morgan County
On Sept. 13, 2024, at 7:30, the Cedar Shoals Jaguars will play the Morgan County Bulldogs for their annual homecoming game. Cedar Shoals, yet to win a game at 0-3, is hoping to gain some success by beating 4-0 Morgan County. The two teams have never played together before this Friday.
This season Cedar’s offense has been mediocre. Their starting quarterback, Keelin Mclendon, is a freshman, has displayed arm strength but has no touchdowns. The key to beating Morgan County will be to stop junior Christian Monfort who is averaging 170 yards-per-game for the Bulldogs.
Due to the inclement weather, the ceremony and crowning of the homecoming king and queen have been postponed. The ceremony and crowning will take place when Cedar Shoals plays Walnut Grove on Friday, Sept. 30, 2024.

Cedar
Junior wide receiver Tybias Marques Lay is one of Cedar’s best offensive players, averaging 45.5 receiving yards per game.
Senior linebacker Marcus Lawrence is the key player for Cedar’s defense. Lawrence is averaging 10 tackles per game.
Morgan County
Junior middle linebacker Jordan Gordon has the most tackles. Gordon is averaging 9.3 tackles per game.
