Clarke-Oconee invitational

In the Cedar Shoals Aqua Jag’s second home meet of the year, the Ramsey Center hosted nineteen schools for the Clarke-Oconee invitational. Throughout the meet, Aqua Jags swimmers recorded multiple achievements, including state cuts and school records. Senior Christopher Koch, sophomore Lauren Neace, and freshman Abby Green all qualified for the state championship in individual events. Neace broke a school record, becoming the first ever Cedar Shoals swimmer to qualify for all eight state events.

The Cedar Shoals Beta Club members volunteered to time swimmers. Senior Keion Watson appreciated the opportunity to volunteer to support the swim team.

“I had never been to a swim meet before so it was interesting seeing how it worked. It was stressful at first, but after I got the hang of it was fun. It was good being there with other volunteers, and also, watching the races and everybody,” Watson said.
