Parker Signs with Emmanuel College
After receiving offers from both Emmanuel College and Young Harris College, Cedar Shoals senior and defender Seth Parker signed to Emmanuel to study and play soccer.
“I thought about it a lot and liked the players and the coaches more at Emmanuel. I just liked the atmosphere and the environment,” Parker said. “I was really excited to get signed. After working hard for multiple years it feels good to finally achieve something you’ve been working for.”
“His mother and I both went (to Emmanuel), so did his grandfather. He’s third generation,” said Shannon Parker, Seth’s father.
Parker has scored one goal and registered an assist so far this season, with many more throughout his four years playing for the Cedar Shoals soccer team. So far this season the team has gone 7-3-2 and 2-1 in region play.
“He’s a hard worker on the field and in the classroom. He’s always trying and eager to learn in both,” said Mohammad Ba, senior forward.
Parker is considering majoring in kinesiology, but he remains undecided.
“Continue working hard and be the best you can be on and off the field,” Parker told his teammates after the signing.
