Preview: Lady Jags vs. Lady Glads
Cedar Shoals @ Clarke Central
When: September 25th at 6:00 pm
Where: Clarke Central
Coming off of a 17-0 loss versus Elbert County the Cedar Shoals softball team prepares to play crosstown rival Clarke Central this afternoon.
The last time the Jags and Gladiators met, Clarke Central came out on top 15-0. Still, the Lady Jagsbelieve they can pull out a win against the Lady Glads.
“I think we will be a far different team than we were at the beginning of the season when we first played them,” head coach Brittany Ritter said.
Coach Ritter has been working on conditioning and softball basics to help the team work more cohesively.
“Fitness and fundamentals have been two overarching themes this year. We need endurance to be able to play teams like Central because you can see when we go into longer games we get tired quicker,” Ritter said.
Captain Lakayla Massey, sophomore, is especially excited about this game.
“I’m ready for this game. We’re gonna do well and I trust my teammates,” Massey said.
The Lady Jags enter tonight’s game with a 4-5 record, concluding their season tomorrow at Discovery High school at 6 pm.
